Design Challenge III

We make one limited-edition ring every month. In November, we'd like to make yours.

This is our third Design Challenge, and the first two produced rings we're genuinely proud of — both started as a sketch from someone who doesn't make jewellery for a living. So if you've ever looked at a ring and thought "I'd have done that differently," this is the one to enter.

What you win

• Your ring, made for free — we cut, cast and hand-finish it in the workshop, and you keep the first one.
• A $1,000 voucher to spend on anything else in the store.
• Your design released as a limited edition, credited to you, sold for the month of November only.

The brief

One rule: the ring has to feature citrine, the yellow stone. Everything else is yours to decide.

• Metal: silver, gold, or both.
• Stone cut: round, oval, emerald or cushion — or leave it to us.
• Style: anything. Signet, band, sculptural, something we've never made before.

How to enter

1. Download the template using the button below, and print it — or just draw the boxes on a blank page if that's easier.
2. Draw your ring. There are four boxes: top view, side view, front view, and one spare for anything else you want to show us.
3. Tick your options — metal, and stone cut if you have a preference.
4. Add a short note telling us the idea behind it. This matters more than you'd think. Where it came from, what it means, what you were going for.
5. Send it to ask@ahwstudio.com — a photo taken on your phone is completely fine — or tag @ahwstudio on Instagram.

We read every single one. You'll get a reply from us either way — usually within a day or two, because we're excited to see them.

A few things people ask

"I can't draw." Neither can most people who've entered. Some of our favourite entries so far are biro on lined paper. We're judging the idea, not the linework — we have a CAD team to make it look good.

"Can I enter more than once?" Yes, as many times as you like. Send them all in one email if that's easier.

"What if I win?" We'll email you to talk it through, work up the CAD together, and get your size right before anything gets made. You'll see it before anyone else does.

"Do I have to be in Australia?" No. We ship worldwide.
